The porch of an old Victorian brings nostalgic thoughts to mind. This Victorian is used to present Shakespeare in the summer months at Concannon Vineyard in Livermore. I can imagine Juliet on the balcony above.

Reflections on the Water


This is my most recent piece. A watercolor of serenity. I purposely omitted any reference to people or buildings...just the purity of a view of water and land. My intent is to create a meditation piece. Something the viewer can focus on to forget the commitments and concerns of everyday life.

On the Bay in Benicia



On a recent plein air painting excursion, I created this painting of the San Francisco Bay from the shore near Benicia. It was a typical overcast day, thus the almost colorless sky. Carquinez Straits can be seen across the water in the distance. My next three paintings will be a series from this viewpoint with a slight twist.
