On a recent plein air painting excursion, I created this painting of the San Francisco Bay from the shore near Benicia. It was a typical overcast day, thus the almost colorless sky. Carquinez Straits can be seen across the water in the distance. My next three paintings will be a series from this viewpoint with a slight twist.
